PLASTIC EXTRUSION
Rigid Film, Sheet & Profile Extrusion Technology
Rigid & Expanded Profile Extrusion Technology
Our extrusion technology for rigid film, sheet, and profiles serves construction, packaging, logistics, and signage/advertising. We cover three families: Expanded foams (XPE/XPS/XPET), Rigid flat film & sheet (PET/PP/PS, barrier, cast film, geomembrane) and Hollow/corrugated (PP, PC “greca”). Lines are engineered for stable surfaces, tight tolerances, and recycled content (rPET/PCR), with calendering, in-line thickness/gauge control, trimming, and winding designed to keep quality consistent as you scale.

Sustainable Technologies for Efficient Industrial Production
Energy-Efficient Extrusion Technology & Process Control
- Energy efficiency: Optimized heating/cooling, drives, and line control reduce kWh/kg and environmental impact.
- Automation & quality control: Real-time monitoring, in-line thickness/gauge measurement, and SPC help keep sheets on spec while cutting waste.
- Customization & flexibility: Modular configurations multi-roll calender stacks, filtration/degassing options, and downstream choices, adapt to specific materials (including rPET/PCR and fillers) and target applications.
- Industry 4.0 connectivity: OPC-UA dashboards expose OEE, scrap, and energy data for faster changeovers and data-driven decisions.
MECH-I-TRONIC Plastic Extruder: Single-Screw vs Twin-Screw
Single-Screw Extruders
Single-screw extruders are ideal for standard formulations and steady outputs.
Advantages:
- Straightforward operation & maintenance for day-to-day reliability.
- Broad material windows for PET/PP/PS and commodity rigid sheets.
- Stable melt profiles that help deliver uniform surfaces and thickness.
Twin-Screw Extruders
Preferred when mixing performance, devolatilization or fillers/PCR require tighter process control.
Advantages:
- Homogeneous mixing for formulations with additives or high recycled content.
- Precise temperature & shear management to protect mechanical and optical properties.
- Process headroom for tougher jobs (e.g., high-viscosity rPET, specialty sheets).
